A chemical Engineer with 25 years of total experience in oil and Gas Industry which comprises of 7 years in Process Plant operation and 18 years in Implementation of Intergraph’s Engineering Design tools namely SmartPlant P&ID, SP Instrumentation (SPI\INtools), SP Electrical (SPEL), SmartPlant 3D (SP3D), SmartPlant Foundation (SPF), Plant Design System (PDS), Pelican Forge SupportModeler, and other related software.

The domain of technical expertise comprises of training, Automation, troubleshooting, customization & administration of above software. In depth software knowledge with sound process engineering background.

March ’10 – Till Date        ADNOC Sour Gas

ADNOC Sour Gas is a joint venture Company formed by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and Occidental Petroleum (OXY) for development of ultra-sour SHAH gas field.

ADNOC Sour Gas currently produces 10% of UAE’s natural gas and 5% of the world’s total sulphur. It represents a new era in gas development, using new technologies to process gas with high sulphur content. This Project is onsidered a new benchmark in the industry.The Project was divided among various EPC Contractors.

I joined ADNOC Sour Gas core team at the early stage i.e. before EPC contract award as a senior business information management analyst and was promoted to Team Leader based on my performance and Technical expertise.

Performed below listed key activities

• Prepared Implementation guideline document for all the SmartPlant tools namely SmartPlant P&ID (SPPID), SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI - INtools), SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL) and SmartPlant 3D (SP3D). These guidelines are followed by all the EPCs during Detail Engineering phase.
• Coordination with all the  EPC contractors and their Technical Query Resolutions
• All the four SmartPlant tools Quality Audits for the database handed over by EPC contractorss.
• SmartPlant tools handover acceptance and restoration. 
• SmartPlant tools and Oracle upgrade

• • SPPID Upgrade from V2009 to V2014
  • SPEL upgrade from  V 2009 to V 2015
  • SPI upgrade from V 2009 to V2013.
  • Monitored SP3D upgrade by third  party contractor  from V 2009 to V 2011 and finally to V2014R1

• Led the SmartPlant tools and Foundation Integration team and in house published nealy 3500 P&IDs from SPPID  database, more than 200 thousand  Instruments from SPI database & also published SPEL and SP3D Models.
• Loaded more than 200 thousand non SmartPlant Documents to SmartPlant Foundation and created tag to document links.
• Managed in-house development of Electronic management of change system along with SmartPlant Foundation developer.
• Training of all the SmartPlant tools, SmartPlant Foundation (SPF) and E-MOC to all the operation users.
• Managing regular backup and administration activities of 20 SmartPlant Tool databases handed over by 5 EPC contractors.
• User query resolution for nearly 400 SmartPlant Foundation users.
• Regular administration activities for Project document control system Aconex.

June ’05 – Feb ’10        Technip - Abu Dhabi

Technip is the leading provider of Engineering, technologies and construction services for the oil & gas, petrochemical and other industries.

Smart Plant P&ID Projects (SP2D/SPPID):

·         Completed SPPID setup for Takreer IRP-II Feed Project (version 2007).

·         Created template project using IRP-I DDT files and upgraded to version 4.3 and finally to 2007.

·         Created procedure for SPPID setup and implementation for IRP-II Project.

·         Co-ordination for SPPID implementation activity for ZADCO (Upper Zakum Development) conceptual Project i.e. (Pre-feed stage).

Smart Plant 3D Projects (SP3D):

·         Trained on all the Modules of Intergraph Smart Plant 3D.

·         Completed SP3D project setup for ZADCO (Upper Zakum Development) conceptual Project which include systems creation for each disciplines, Piping, Civil-structural, Electrical and Instrumentation Orthographic drawing setup and Electrical cable tray specification creation.

·         Customized SP3D Piping spec for Yemen LNG Project.

·         Customized Pipe supports in Visual basic for Yemen LNG Project as per Technip Support standard.

Smart Plant Isometrics (I-Sketch) and SmartPlant Spoolgen Projects

·         Completed self-study on SmartPlant Isometrics and implemented the same on Canadian-Nexen Project. Activity includes Project Spec and catalogue creation, Isometric setup and generation.

·         Completed self study on SmartPlant Spoolgen and implemented the same on one of the pilot project.

Smart Plant Electrical (SPEL):

·         Software installation.

·         Creation of Site and Plant with proper Hierarchy setting for pilot project.

·         Customization of catalogue data, Dictionary filters and Format database.

·         Project administration and trouble shooting.

Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI/ INtools):

PDS Projects

·         PDS Administration activities for Fujairah Water Transmission System (FWTS2). This project is for setting up new pump station and Intermediate reservoir at Fujairah. I have performed following activities on this project.

·         Up- gradation of FWTS1 PDS Project to latest version i.e PDS 8.0.

·         Routine PDS-ADMIN activities like Isometrics and Orthographic drawing generation set-up, Clash Report generation, Client Model Review setup, RDB Conflict Report generation.

·         PDS Modeling and Client Review Procedure preparation.

·         I have been given the discipline leader responsibilities for PDS Administration activities of RAS GAS-3 ( Ras Laffan Liquefied Natural Gas Project)and AKG2 ( AL Khaleej Gas Project Phase-2 Client is ExonMobil Middle East) Projects. Both the projects are workshare Project with Chiyoda Japan and Technip Paris office. I was leading the group of 3 PDS administrators and provided PDS support to 80 designers of all disciplines. I have performed following activities on these projects.

·         Preparation of basic procedures and standards before starting the Modeling activities in PDS.

·         Implementation of Chiyoda’s IGS system for isometrics Isometrics.

·         Drawing Manager, Orthogen initial setting and PDS user support.

·         Clash Report generation and managing the same using Caxpert software.

·         Resolved PDS reference data related problems and user queries.

·         Performed day to Day PDS administration activities like scheduling archival batches, Clash and RDB Conflict Report generation and solving user queries.

Jacobs H&G is the Indian subsidiary of Multi-national Jacobs group. Jacobs H&G is the leading Chemical projects consultancy Organization in   India. Jacobs has designed number of chemical and Petro-chemical projects on the new generation software like PDS, INtools and Intelligent P&IDs.

Details of my Project Experience are described below.

PDS Projects

·         Deputed to Japan Gas Corporation, JGC (Japan) for BAPCO LSDP Project PDS administration. Completed the following activities during the deputation.

·         Kick off meeting with the client (BAPCO) on PDS Project requirement and final deliverables.

·         PDS Project creation on PDS version 7.2 using the Site ID feature.

·         Customization, Checking and Loading of PDS Piping reference database.

·         Piping and equipment Eden modification as per the project requirement.

·         Customization of Isometric reference data.

·         Customization of Electrical Reference database.

INtools Projects

·         INtools Project Creation, Administration, regular backups, Import of Excel sheet tag and Process data into INtools database. Customization of Specification sheets. Creation of wiring drawings, Customization of Loop and Hook-up drawings  for BP Grangemouth and MHI-Japan projects. I have also imparted training on various modules of INtool to the users before starting of these projects.
